Kasey Kahne has some mighty big shoes to fill. This season, he inherited the #9
ride from the legendary and immensely popular Bill Elliott. While fans were
understandably disappointed to hear that Elliott would only run select races in
2004, so far Kahne has easily exceeded all expectations. He's building a strong
fan base on his own, and has shown remarkable resilience behind the wheel.

And he's awfully cute. Kahne has an unmistakable charisma. It's a combination of
a shy, sweet kid with a sly sense of humor that emerges in his eyes when he
flashes a rare smile. That sense of mystery is attracting the notice of ladies
young and old.

Kahne has yet to win a cup race, but only 14 races into his rookie season, Kahne
is a force to be reckoned with. Almost every week he is running consistently in
the top 10, and on several occasions has taken the checkers as the runner-up. He
races clean, and has gained the respect from much more experienced veterans
as well his fellow rookies. As things stand now, the only other rookie even in the
hunt for the much-coveted Rookie of the Year title is Brian Vickers.

Although Elliott is semi-retired, he's providing some much-needed guidance to
Kahne. It can be difficult for drivers making the jump from the relatively low profile
Busch series to the spotlight in cup racing. Especially when a rookie is as
immediately successful as Kahne has been thus far.

Clearly, Elliott's influence is helping Kahne adjust. Kahne has handled the
pressures of the media, the adoration of fans and the stresses on the track with
exceptional confidence. It is very easy to root for him every week, and I think all
fans are genuinely looking forward to the years of entertainment he's sure to
provide on the track, as well as those curiously sneaky grins sans helmet that
even draw an inadvertent smile from this jaded (comparative) old lady.

Kasey's' Race Day Horoscope for June 20 - by Yahoo Horoscopes
Today would be a good time to initiate some kind of emotional clearing of issues
that have been eating at you for a while. If you approach the people involved in a
clear and friendly way, you should be able to clear the air once and for all so you
can concentrate on other pressing matters. Don't put it off. Squelching your own
personal needs will only lead to resentment. Once you deal with your feelings
about an issue, you may be able to act and move the situation forward. A female
authority figure may help you deal with a particularly annoying coworker or friend.
